Creative Composition Workshop Series - Havre de Grace

Hello Everyone,

This weekend was my Creative Composition workshop in Havre de Grace. We had a great turn out and the weather cooperated! I think everyone did an outstanding job and I can’t wait for our critique session so I can see some of their images! Normally I don’t shoot a lot during the workshops, but I do however setup shots and have the participates look through my viewfinder.
Looking to put a little extra zing into your images? Then you need to try the new Tiffen Dfx software. The software allows you to give your images the look you once could only achieve by using the filters in the field. The images shown here were processed using this software!

Painterly Effects

Hello Everyone,

Here's an image that I made with a Tamron 90mm macro lens in my garden. After capture I ran a Buzz Simplifier filter plug-in for Photoshop to give it that painterly look!

I'm fortunate enough to be teaching a photography workshop for Calumet of Philadelphia, which is being sponsored by Tamron. Along with this, Tamron has been generous enough to provided me with an arsenal of lenses and all of my new images (including this one) will be made with Tamron lenses. The workshop is going to be at Winterthur on September 5 and 6th. We kick things off Friday evening at Calumet with a lecture then a meet and greet. Then, bright and early Saturday morning a bus will transport us from Calumet to Winterthur for a day of shooting in the gardens. More information can be found at the Calumet website or by clicking here!

Clouds

Hello Everyone,

I made this image and several others from my deck as the clouds and light changed yesterday evening just before a storm moved in.

Catching Up

Hello Everyone,

It’s been a while since my last blog and I wanted to try to get back into the swing of things. I shoot this location through ever season and all different weather conditions. It’s a shot of the Octoraro Creek at one of my favorite locations. I love the low camera perspective enhancing the exaggerated view of the creek. In fact, I was so low that my shutter release cable dipped into the water, but only for a split second. I brought it home, took it apart and dried all of the electrical components with a hair dryer. Works like a new one!

Best of Light,

Ed
