Greeting and welcome to my Wacom update. For the past several years, I’ve been using a Microsoft ergonomic mouse that truthfully looks more like a tennis ball than a mouse and I absolutely love it. I have the tracking cranked up so I don’t have to move it very far to cover a lot of ground on the screen. The Wacom is totally opposite, each corner of the tablet represents the corner of your monitor. I wanted to see if the Wacom will be more productive in my editing so I bought an Intuos 4 medium. That seemed to be a happy medium between the small and large. I didn’t want an extra-large due to my desk constraints. Therefore, for me coming from a “cracked up mouse” to a Wacom Tablet seemed like a lot of hand movement. After two days (I know it takes longer to get used to it than that) of using the tablet, I decided it was entirely too much movement. So, I returned the medium and thought I would give the small a try. I’ve had the small tablet now for a day and a half and I’m much happier with it! Much less, hand movement and it seems to do everything the medium did. In fact, I’m actually excited about editing images so I can give it more of a workout. I’m going to trust my friend Ken Hubbard when he tells me to stick with it, you’ll love it...
Stay tuned I’ll be posting updates to my progress...

Hey, Heaton! It is about time you made the move. The more you use it, the more you will like it.
Hi Bob and thanks! I know we talked about this before and I remember how much you said you liked yours...
I use a trackball and ergonomic Keyboard in my classroom. Kids all think its 'funny looking', the tech guys call it warpped plastic. I love them.
I was using a small size tablet for about a year. I since gave it to my daughter for her graphic designs. I have a thumb wheel trackball mouse and find I get great control with it.
I have the Intuos 3 in the 4x6 size and it is fantastic, even with a 24" monitor... Stick with it, you will come to really enjoy it. The 4x6 size is great for less movement and it takes up almost nothing of my already cramped desk area.
Thanks guys and I'm sticking with it! I relocated it and it's much more comfortable...
I was looking at those last year and thought I might get one, but since I do so little editing and really nothing that requires me to do any local adjustments using a mouse I figured it wouldn't be worth the expense for me. They are very cool though and if I was into doing more photoshop I would definitely be tempted to get one.
Thanks everyone and so far so good! I'm slowing getting used to the Wacom and it's outstanding for cloning and touch ups...
Know a couple of photographers who use the small one and I'm really tempted to get one myself. They swear by it. Definitely a must for the digital photographer and the digital artist. Just have to make the effort to put the mouse away.
Thanks for the support John!
