Winter Springhouse

This little Springhouse was certainly a nice find. I have it on my return to list when the light is a bit more dramatic; in the meantime, I wanted to share. I used the new Topaz Simplifier to give this image a painterly look and feel.

Fall Corn

I’ve been driving past this corncrib since the fall harvest and finally decided to stop and photography it.

Amish Farm Pano

As I sat in my office watching the light get sweeter and sweeter, I decided to go out and shoot. I spent my time shooting Amish Farms and Schoolhouses and looking for a composition that lends itself to a nice panoramic. Well as luck would have it, I found one that made me particularly happy.

Octoraro Creek

As bad as I wanted to get out yesterday in the snow I had too many commitments. However, I did have an opportunity to get out the day before and scoot down to my favorite creek! The Octoraro is a very picturesque little creek running through portions of Chester and Lancaster County. These two images were made in close proximity, one looking up the creek and the other looking down. I added a slight buzz to one using the new Topaz Simplifier. This is very similar to the old BUZZ filter made by Fo2pix, which unfortunately went out of business.

This image of the Turkey Point Lighthouse was made mid-afternoon but I had amazing clouds making the light spotty and diffused. Good light for that time of day!

    Individualism

Although I sell myself as a landscape photographer, I love spending time shooting macros and very intimate subjects. This one, which I made at Longwood, shows nice flowing lines and a soft background.

    Washington DC Outing

This past Sunday a few friends from the Chester County Camera Club visited Washington DC to see the Ansel Adams and Georgia O’ Keefe art display. The display was excellent and of course, we had a great time! Prior to the museum opening Kelly and I visited the Arlington National Cemetery. Although I’ve been there on several occasions it’s always a humbling experience.

I processed all of the black and white images with NIK’s Silver Effects Pro using the Antique Plate filter. I liked how it gave the appearance of a vintage photo.

2009 New Years Day Fox Hunt

As we start the New Year, I wanted to post a few images from a Fox Hunt I attended with some friends from the Chester County Camera Club. I wasn’t happy with the setup for this hunt. Being so cold, the riders huddled amongst trailer making it hard to get a clean composition. Oh well, I had fun anyway…
