Hello Everyone,
With our record snow amounts this year, comes record amounts of complaining about it. I know it's hard on some folks and when you hit a certain age it seems to get even harder. With that said, I probably fall into a different category when I say; I love snow and the more the merrier. Of course, I should also clarify my statement by including, "If I don't have to drive very far in it". During our last big snowfall, Kelly and I walked around town shooting snowy images for the Atglen Boro's newsletter and website. This image brings back memories of when I was a kid and had so much fun sledding and hanging out with my friends.

Hello Everyone,
This past summer one of my workshops was a "Lancaster County Tour"; we visited many of the local attraction and finished up with a shot of the train. I thought everybody did a good job but when I started critiquing the groups images I was pleasantly surprised that everybody didn't do a "good job" but a "GREAT job"! Being inspired by the images from my summer workshop I wanted to throw a new twist on the shot and wait for some snow...

Hello Everyone,
This morning I made a quick unexpected run over to one of my favorite farms here in Atglen. As I was sitting in my office working on emails and drinking coffee, I noticed the light was really looking sweet outside. As most outdoor photographers know, the sweet light doesn't last for too long and today was no exception. I ended up getting about 15 minutes of nice light and then I packed up and came home.

Hello Everyone,
I ran out between digging and snow blowing today to catch a glimpse of the sunset. I didn't stay out long enough and missed most of the colors we had tonight. Although I was happy with this one even though it was a quickie. I need to find a good creek scene that faces west or trim up the branches here ;-)

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share this image of Deer Creek and discuss a little bit about how it was made. Getting a good balance between motion blur and stop action can be a delicate thing at times. I'm a big fan of having the shutter drag as long as I can but sometimes you need to have a balance. In this image, I wanted to show both, motion and stop action. To archive this and still keep a good depth of field I shot it at f/13 and a shutter speed of 1/3 sec. I used a polarizer to help remove the glare from the water and slow the shutter speed by one and a half stops...

Hello Everyone,
After all the info on Facebook Saturday, I noticed that Maryland was getting much more snow than we were. So yesterday, I made a trip down to visit some of my old haunts. I grew up in Maryland and spent a large portion of my early days roaming through the countryside's and woods and knowing where to go certainly paid off.
This image is a four shot vertical panoramic.
