Boneyard Light Painting

Hello Everyone,

Here's an image from Boneyard Beach in the Charleston area. Our group arrived early and we played around with a little "painting with light" in the dawn hours. I had a very powerful LED flashlight and everyone had fun!

Winding Glen

Hello Everyone,

As many of you know I just returned from a scouting trip in Charleston, SC for a future workshop. Let me say what a beautiful area and it has tons of potential. I'm now working on processing my images from the trip! So before I start posting my Charleston images, I wanted to share this one that was made right in my neighborhood. One of my favorite saying that is always on my website is "Learning to capture light will make extraordinary images from ordinary subjects".

Best of Light,

Ed

Conservatory

Hello Everyone,

Here's one of my favorite views in the conservatory at Longwood. Although I've shot this many times the contents are always changing so I enjoy capturing the variety…

Background Control

Hello Everyone,

Last night in class we talked about background control and the importance of having a pleasing background. Nothing can kill a good image faster than a busy unattractive background.

Hello Everyone,

Well now that spring is in the air we all seem to be gravitating towards making flower images and I'm no exception! Here's a singled out Daisy with a blue sky as a background.

Rural Amish Farm

Hello Everyone,

With the approaching storm front I thought we might get a dramatic sunset this evening. Unfortunately it was mediocre at best, but as Charlie Borland would say, "You never know if you never go". This Amish Farm setting is in the heart of Lancaster County.

Ed

Middle Creek WMA

Hello Everyone,

Monday evening I had a chance to visit the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area to capture the Snow Geese migration along with a few Tundra Swans. The waterfowl usually stopover in Lancaster County in late winter (Mid-February to early March) on their way to their mating grounds up north.

Hello Everyone,

After a very inspirational lecture from Brenda Tharp this past Saturday I revisited a few of my images to see how I could add a creative spin on them. This image was originally created as a montage several years ago so I thought I would share.
