I made this image back in 2005 and still today it has the same somber feeling it did back then! The Veterans had just finished putting all of the crosses and flags up outside of a VFW in northeast Philadelphia.

Here's another image from my Holtwood outing. To process this image I used Nik's Viveza and Color Effects Pro. Truthfully, I use at least one of Nik's products on ALL of my images that I process! Sunday morning I had an opportunity to shoot with friend and fellow photographer Nick Dibernardo. We visited one of our old haunts over along the Susquehanna River which always provides a pleasing arrangement. Here I wanted to capture Nick hard at work putting the final touches on his composition. Looking at this image doesn't do justice to the steepness of the bank he's standing on. One misplaced step and down the bank he would slide about 25 feet to the bottom.

This is my area that gives me solace and allows me to re-charge my spirit. It's the garden in the backyard and I actually spend a great deal of time there. My son and I dug the pond and laid the liner, and then Kelly arranged the stones and planted the flowers and ferns. It's a nice little sanctuary. I made this image on a soft overcast day and added the Glamour Glow filter that comes with Nik's Color Effects Pro.
