Happy Saturday Morning,
I made this image yesterday morning at the Octoraro Lake at Sunrise. Most of the time I let the light and magic (as I like to call it) dictate what my subject will be. Well as I'm driving over to the lake I noticed a bunch of ground fog hanging in the valleys but for the life of me I couldn't find a compelling composition. So I continued on to my original plan of shooting the lake… This was my planned shoot for the morning but I would have deviated from that plan if I could have found a nice tree or barn in the right location and the fog misting all around!

With fall just around the corner, I'm getting pretty excited for my up-coming fall workshops! One of my highlights each year is a visit to Acadia National Park in Maine. It's an amazing location with such a variety of subjects to photograph; one could spend a lifetime there and not completely do justice to the beauty of the place. I thought I would start to share a few of my images from last year hopefully to spark an interest in attending this year's workshop!

My son and I'm are heading over to one of the islands just below the Holtwood Dam in the Susquehanna River tonight to shoot some star trails.(hopefully it's clear) It's a small island that we found about 10 years ago and is uninhabited. It's very secluded and you have a real feeling of wildness when out there. I'll load up the Kayaks and store all of my gear in dry bags and paddle out for the night… Should be fun! This infrared image was made 5 years ago from the island. It is a straight out of the camera infrared and no conversion with PS…

Here's another image from this weekend's outing to the Blackwater Falls area. Kelly & I found this mid day but I can't wait to get back for a sunrise shoot! This is a 3 shot Pano using the Really Right Stuff Pano Head. To process my panoramics I use "Autopano Giga" and I'm extremely happy with the results it provides.

This past weekend Kelly & I put the finishing touches on all of the logistics for my workshop at Blackwater Falls this coming September. It really wasn't much but I always try my best to be a prepared workshop leader with only the weather up for question! We also had some free time and hiked several of the trails in the Dolly Sods and Canaan Heights Area. This image is from our visit to Bear Rocks. We had a really enjoyable time exploring and hiking the area and to our surprise a meadow full of magenta flowers.

Hello Everyone,
This past Sunday I was invited to attend the Harford County Farm Fair by Mark, the co-organizer of the Harford County Meetup Group. What a blast it was, hanging out and shooting with Mark and I had a chance to meet Ira as well. I made my rounds shooting everything from people to pigs. I love shooting these types of events; they're just good old fashion fun!
