May Apple
Greeting and Salutations,
I wanted to share a few more images from Shenk’s Ferry before I left for my trip. I’m just about packed and will be heading out of here first thing tomorrow morning for my week long workshop in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! It’s a great venue and one of my favorite locations to shoot.
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for many more images and notes from the field.
Best of Light,
Ed

Mossy Log
Hello Everyone,
Here’s another one from my Shenk’s Ferry visit. We all looked at this but I think I was the only one to shoot it. I was hoping to get back this past weekend but time didn’t permit!
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for many more images and notes from the field.

Trillium
I think this was the only Trillium open during my visit to Shenk's Ferry last weekend (lol). This is a composite of four images focused at different spots on the flower using a wide open aperture (f2.8) then combined using Helicon Focus. If I had shot this with a closed down aperture (f/22 or so) the background would have been a additional subject creating a competing element in my image!
TIDBIT: The white trillium serves as the emblem and official flower of the Canadian province of Ontario.area.

Clouds & Light
Good morning,
As some of you know I dabble in weather forecasting. I have my own weather station and send data to National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), Weather Underground and several more. So it’s understandable when I see a cool bank of clouds it get’s my attention. Plus, as a photographer light is always on my mind :~)
As with all of my images I used Nik’s Software to process this image! If you are interested in saving yourself a few $$$ on any of Nik’s products feel free to use my discount code “EHEATON”.
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for many more images and notes from the field.

Appleseed Hollow – Buzz
Hello Everyone,
Only a couple of day away from my Appleseed Hollow Workshop and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a great venue no matter what season but Spring is probably my favorite time to work the area! All three of these images have the Topaz Simplify filter applied.
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for many more images and notes from the field.

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share a few images from my last Longwood outing. I’ve been sitting on them as it seems to be getting tougher to find time to process images now that the workshop season is in full swing!
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for many more images and notes from the field.

Spring is in the Air
Hello Everyone,
As many of you have probably noticed I’ve slowed down in my blog posts. This has a lot to do with the workshop season kicking into gear. Lately I’ve been teaching private workshops and doing quite a bit of tutoring. Don’t give up on me and I’ll try my best to add images weekly :~)
