2011 - A Year in Review

Happy New Year Everyone,

As the year comes to a close I would like to look back on what an exceptional year it's been! This has been one of my best years from many standpoints.  I strengthened my relationship with my amazing sponsors. Honestly, they have all been great but to mention a few of my main stream sponsors, I would like to thank Tamron, Lowepro and Nik Software for their amazing support this year. I was also very honored to have been invited to join the Lowepro Professional Photographers Showcase.

I've had the opportunity to work with so many outstanding clients and stood before so many beautiful places I am truly thankful!

As the new year quickly approaches I look forward to new adventures that the coming 2012 will bring. I also would like to thank everyone for their continued support and to wish you all a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.

I've attached a small gallery of my favorite images from the various trips and outings in 2011 and I would love for you to have a look.

Adding Multiple Megan's

Pat's Revised Version - Multiple Megan's from Ed Heaton Photography on Vimeo.

This tutorial will show how to add one person multiple times in an image and is tailored to the Photoshop CS3/4 or 5 user.  Let me start out by laying some ground work. First of all you need your camera set on a tripod and then have your subject move to different locations in each separate image. You can do this as many times as you would like combining the images with Photoshop.

Longwood Visit

At the beginning of December, just before Longwood got nuts, I had a chance to spend several hours capturing the Holiday decorations. I say before it got nuts but honestly it was pretty crowded and the motorized chairs were zooming everywhere.  Here are a few images that caught my eye while strolling around...

Poinsettias

Red is not the predominate color this Christmas season at Longwood Gardens but I did manage to find a little here and there. This years theme is more muted earthy tones.

Ephrata Cloister

A couple of weeks ago Michael Lawrence and I spent a rainy morning photographing around the historic grounds of Ephrata Cloister. One of America's earliest religious communities, the Ephrata Cloister was founded in 1732 by German settlers.
